Volume 9, Supplement 2Review ArticlesBreast Cancer Clinical and Translational Research: Analogies and Implications for Prostate CancerAndrogen-Independent Prostate CancerLea BaerSilvia C FormentiBreast and prostate cancer, respectively, are the most common cancers in women and in men in the United States. The management of locally advanced prostate cancer involves a multidisciplinary approach, bearing similarity to the therapeutic approach to breast cancer. Better understanding of the molecular biology of these cancers and the identification of the role played by the cancer stem cells and the tumor microenvironment may translate into better clinical decision making regarding risk classification and treatment allocation. A systematic assessment is presented of the many parallel evolutions in defining and treating high-risk breast cancer as they pertain to prostate cancer. Volume 13, Number 2Case ReviewIdiopathic Scrotal Calcinosis: A Non-Elucidated Pathogenesis and Its Surgical TreatmentAbdelhak KhalloukMohamed Jamal El FassiMoulay Hassan FarihOussama El YazamiMohamed Fadl TaziSoufiane MellasScrotal calcinosis (SC) is a rare, benign entity defined as the presence of multiple calcified nodules within the scrotal skin. In most cases, there are no associated symptoms. We report the case of 27-year-old man with a massive SC. Treatment was surgical with complete excision of the affected part of the scrotum wall. Histopathologically, there was no epithelial lining around the calcified nodules and no cystic structure. Therefore, our case was considered idiopathic SC [Rev Urol. 2011;13(2):95-97 doi: 10.3909/riu0481] © 2011 MedReviews®, LLCTreatmentCalcinosisIdiopathicScrotumSurgery
